WIRELESS SECURITY SAFETY INFORMATION

The United States Internet Crime Task Force, Inc. is seriously committed to your online safety.  Recent news events have exploited the phobia surrounding the use of wireless 802.11-technology as well as Bluetooth™ connectivity, which is prevalent in most modern cellular telephones.

I would like to tell everyone that, while it is completely safe to use this technology, you should however; take measurable steps to ensure that you have minimized your exposure.   It is nearly impossible to insulate your network from all of the risks associated with using this type of technology and the Internet; however, it is possible to reduce your exposure by taking a few simple precautions.

Recently, as part of our commitment to online security, I have asked our newly appointed National Director of Network Security Jason Saunders to study the wireless industry and come up with simple to understand handbooks for the most commonly used wireless technology products on the market today.   Mr. Saunders has done an excellent job of compiling seven of the industries top WiFi™ router products into simple to read, systematic guides.   He has, in addition, reviewed the Bluetooth® security shortcomings and provided a document to help dispel any rumors that you may have regarding the safety of its use.
